Less Underarm Sweat

miraDry® for Excessive Underarm Sweating

miraDry® is a non-surgical treatment designed to reduce excessive underarm sweating. It uses controlled energy to target sweat glands in the underarm area. The treatment may also reduce underarm odour and hair as these structures can be affected during the procedure.

How Does miraDry® Work?

During treatment, the miraDry® system delivers controlled energy beneath the skin while cooling the surface for comfort and protection. The targeted sweat glands are treated during the procedure and do not regenerate. Other areas of the body continue to produce sweat for normal temperature regulation.

Treatment time, the number of sessions required and expected outcomes vary between patients.

Is miraDry® Suitable for You?

miraDry® may be considered by adults who experience persistent or excessive underarm sweating or who want to reduce their reliance on antiperspirants. Suitability depends on your medical history, symptoms and individual circumstances.

A consultation at HealthiClinic is required before treatment. Your healthcare professional will assess your suitability and discuss the procedure, expected outcomes, possible side effects, recovery and alternative treatment options.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is miraDry?
miraDry is a non-surgical treatment designed to reduce excessive underarm sweating by delivering controlled energy to the underarm sweat-gland area. Suitability, expected improvement, possible side effects and alternatives should be discussed during an individual medical consultation.
It may be considered for adults concerned about excessive underarm sweating, subject to medical assessment. Suitability depends on health history, anatomy, symptoms, prior treatments and other factors. The practitioner may recommend another approach or further assessment instead.
miraDry is intended for the underarm area. It is not a general treatment for sweating of the hands, feet, face or other body regions. Sweating in multiple areas or a sudden change in sweating may warrant broader medical assessment.
The practitioner reviews the sweating concern, health history, medicines and previous management, then assesses whether the treatment may be appropriate. Expected outcomes, anaesthesia, procedure steps, recovery, risks, alternatives and follow-up should be discussed before consent.
No. It is a non-surgical, device-based procedure performed in the underarm area. Local anaesthesia is commonly used. Although it does not involve conventional surgery, it still has potential side effects and requires an appropriate consultation and aftercare.
What side effects can occur after miraDry?
Temporary swelling, tenderness, bruising, altered sensation, firmness or lumps in the underarm area can occur. Other complications are possible. The treating practitioner should explain common and material risks, warning signs and how to seek help after treatment.
Recovery varies. Some people resume many usual activities relatively quickly, while swelling or discomfort may affect exercise and upper-body activity for a period. Follow the individual aftercare instructions provided by the treating practitioner.
The number of treatments depends on the person’s response and goals. Some may consider further treatment after review. No specific degree of sweat reduction should be guaranteed, because results vary between individuals.
Options can include clinical antiperspirants, prescription treatments, selected injections, device-based care or other medical approaches, depending on the cause and severity. A clinician can help determine whether investigation or another treatment is more appropriate.
